On My Way to Frankfurt via Dallas

After booking, re-booking and even canceling a flight (because I tweeked my knee on the airplane), I'm on my way to Germany. I am meeting a new friend and travel partner, Marianne. She responded to my ad on the Rick Steves' forum for a travel partner. After 53 years of marriage, her husband suddenly passed and is determined to travel. German born and raised with family in Germany, I think she'll will be a great travel partner. It's been 53 years since she has been in Germany for Christmas.

I am taking a 5:25 pm flight to Dallas. This American Airlines 737 aircraft is newer.  Before going through security, I checked into changing my seat at the ticket counter. Connie was able to give me a window, emergency exit seat. What a doll! It was hard to leave Steve but he just doesn't want to travel at this time of year. Before boarding the plane, I was able to check in my luggage for free—yea! The attendant noticed the Platinum ID on my bag and said “Oh, you're platinum” and put a priority sticker on my bag. It will be first off at baggage claim—another gold star for American Airlines.
Thank you, Steve, for flying those 2 Million Miles.

Upon arrival in Dallas, I will be staying at the Marriott Fairfield Hotel. Hopefully, it will be a smooth transition from the airport to the hotel.
